1. What compositional elements and principles are present in your photo?
In first photo clear lines are present and divide the picture. The pillar leads the viewer's eyes into the back of the photo, and the contrast between the building and the sky keeps it interesting. This follows the law of thirds by having major lines fall on both the 1/3 and 2/3 horizontally and vertically.
2. Technically, how did you control the camera, lighting, or your position when
you took the photo to create a successful shot?
With a large aperture the focus of the shot drifts back, not to the front of the pillar, but to the back and towards the sky. Shooting it straight up changes something you see everyday into an interesting photograph.
(How did you consider distance, point or view and camera angle?)
3. Artistically, were you able to create a photo with a sense of mood or special
meaning? (or) Were you able to show an interesting point of view? (or) Does the
subject hold the viewer’s attention?
This photo shows a different point of view, we walk by the pillars in the school every day, but almost never do people look straight under them. This creates an interesting perspective. The photo also contains many lines and shadows. Those factors combine to keep the attention of the viewer.

1. What compositional elements and principles are present in your photo?
When capturing this scene I focused on creating a depth in the scene with the phone and books in the foreground. This also follows the law of thirds by the first third from the left and the bottom are in focus, but the rest are out of focus.
2. Technically, how did you control the camera, lighting, or your position when
you took the photo to create a successful shot?
The lighting coming from the right side of the scene adds an interesting reflection. You can see the light source reflecting from the all the glass objects. The camera aperture was large, this created a small depth of field and added to the scene. Getting close to the phone and leaving the books off shot makes the scene appear larger and more natural then it is.

meaning? (or) Were you able to show an interesting point of view? (or) Does the

I think this photo has a natural feel. It could be the scene at someone's house years ago. Everything is messily placed and scattered around.
